The City of Port Coquitlam provides bi-weekly, year-round curbside collection of green waste to single-family residences receiving City garbage pick-up.  Please refer to the Collection Schedule and Zone Map to determine your collection day.

• Grass clippings
• Leaves
• Prunings
• Plant trimmings and cut flowers
  
• Twigs, branches and limbs up to 3" in diameter and 40" long - Note: this includes Christmas trees without tinsel or chemical sprays.
  
• All food scraps, including meat, bones, dairy, eggshells, breads, pasta, rice, coffee grounds/filters, tea bags and vegetable and fruit peels and pits
  
• Food-soiled papers including pizza boxes, soiled paper egg cartons, food-soiled newspaper and paper bags used for collecting food scraps

• No regular garbage
• No animal feces or kitty litter
• No construction or renovation materials
• No metal or foil
• No recyclables or plastics of any type
  

• All waste must fit into the carts provided and the lids must close completely; no extra material will be collected.
• Do not include any plastic bags or containers.
• Green waste is not permitted in garbage carts and will not be collected unless it is in the proper cart.
• Residents who self-manage their green waste on their own property by using green waste alternatives are not required to participate in the green waste collection service.  To return your green waste cart, please request a Change of Service.
• Larger or extra carts are available for additional fees.  Residents who wish to change the size of their carts, or who wish to have additional carts should request a Change of Service
• In accordance with the GVRD Disposal Ban, as of January 1, 2008 any garbage carts (grey lid) found to contain green waste will not be picked up.
