Pesticide Use
The City is encouraging residents to avoid pesticides, specifically "cosmetic herbicides".  Cosmetic herbicides are pesticides that are used solely for controlling weeds and enhancing the appearance of lawns and gardens.

  1. They are unnecessary
  2. They often make the problem worse
  3. They pose a threat to wildlife
  4. They threaten our drinking water
  5. They pose a threat to public health
  6. They pose a particularly great threat to our children
  7. They pose a threat to the health of our pets
  8. They are tested on animals
  9. They contain undisclosed ingredients
  10. They are difficult to handle, store and dispose of
