Corporate Officer (City Clerk)

The Corporate Office provides corporate administration responsibilities as designated by the Local Government Act and Community Charter. This includes the preparation of agendas, minutes, correspondence and research for all meetings of Council. Archiving, minutes of other meetings, bylaws and other records of the business of the local government and its committees and providing access to records, certifying bylaws and other documents, administering oaths and affirmations, declarations and affidavits.

The Corporate Office is responsible for the administration of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.  The office is also responsible for Civic and School Board Elections, Land Management, Joint Family Court and Restorative Justice Committee and Board of Variance.

The Local Government Act and Community Charter establish the authority and framework under which municipal governments operate. In accordance with this legislation, the City Council is required to appoint a Corporate Officer, who:
