This year is an election year for local government in British Columbia and voters will be asked to head to the polls on November 15 to cast ballots for Mayor, City Councillors and School Board trustees. The City of Port Coquitlam uses the Province of B.C. Voters List as its source to determine eligible voters. If you are not on the Provincial Voters list you may register in advance of polling day at Corporate Office, 2nd Floor, City Hall (2580 Shuaghnessy St.). Advance elector registration closes September 23,2008. You may also register on voting day.
If person is registering at the time of voting, two (2) pieces of identification (at least one with a signature) to prove both residency and identity are required. If the person does not have documentation showing residency, two (2) pieces of identification (at least one with a signature) are still required and the person must make a solemn declaration as to their place of residence.
