Project Mitigation
A key focus for the City's Project Team was to identify and mitigate the effects of the project on the community. Community feedback wassolicited and incorporated into the preliminary design, and a mitigation plan was developed to address noise and visual effects.
Earlier input from the community resulted in revisions to the preliminary design aimed to:
- Diminish the impact of traffic noise on homes
- Reduce vehicle conflicts
- Reduce the visual impact of the project on adjacent homes
- Improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists
- Reduce the impact of street lighting on adjacent homes
- Reduce operational delays
- Reduce project costs
