The overpass includes:
- two general-purpose travel lanes in each direction
- marked on-street bicycle lanes in each direction
- sidewalks on one side of the bridge and both sides of connecting roadways
- the new Lougheed Meridian Connector and its new intersections at Coast Meridian Road and Lougheed Highway
- marked bicycle lanes on Coast Meridian Road north of the overpass
- improved intersections at:
- Coast Meridian Road and Riverwood Gate
- Lougheed Highway and Dominion Avenue
- Kingsway Avenue and Broadway Street
- Kingsway Avenue and McLean Avenue
- sound mitigation including acoustic fences along Coast Meridian Road and Lougheed Meridian Connector
- landscaping on public and private properties.

and Riverwood Gate.
Benefits of the Coast Meridian Overpass to Port Coquitlam and the region include:
- Significantly increasing the north/south road capacity in Port Coquitlam;
- Providing a high quality commuter cycling corridor;
- Improving emergency response times and reliability;
- Significantly reducing congestion on major roads, such as Lougheed Highway;
- Improving accessibility to and from downtown Port Coquitlam;
- Improving transit services to the community;
- Improving access to Hyde Creek Recreation Centre and other facilities by residents of south Port Coquitlam;
- Improving access to Port Coquitlam Recreation Complex, Wilson Centre and other facilities by residents of north Port Coquitlam, and
- Reducing air pollution caused by idling vehicles.
