Helping to Shape Your Community

Stay Informed
Stay informed about municipal issues by reading the local newspapers and visiting the 'What's New' section of the City's website. Watch for Council and committee meeting agendas as well as notices about upcoming public input opportunities.

Attend Meetings
If possible, attend a City Council meeting with your parents or class to see how local government works in the City of Port Coquitlam!  City Council meetings are generally held every second and fourth Monday throughout the year. Committee meetings, including the Parks and Recreation Committee and the Youth Advisory Committee, are also open to the public. These bodies advise City Council on parks and recreation matters and issues affecting the youth in our community. Check out the Community Calendar to see when meetings are being held or contact the Corporate Office at 604.927.5421 or clerks@portcoquitlam.ca.

Volunteering is about giving your time to help other people or causes. Click here to learn more about the many volunteer opportunities in our community. Volunteering is also a great way to get work experience for future employment.
