The City recognizes the value of volunteers and honours them each year with the Volunteer Recognition Awards. Nominations typically open each January and close in March and are accepted in seven categories.
The nominees join other community volunteers at a special Volunteer Recognition Awards & Tribute evening held during Volunteer Recognition Week in April that includes refreshments, entertainment and the awards presentation. Award recipients receive an etched glass award and have their names engraved on honour rolls displayed at City Hall. All nominees receive a Certificate of Appreciation and a commemorative lapel pin.
The 2014 Volunteer Recognition Awards & Tribute took place on April 8. Check back in January 2015 for information about our next awards.
