Our Mission
To provide unbiased enforcement of municipal bylaws supporting the development and maintenance of a safe and liveable environment in our community.
The Bylaw Services Division is located on the first floor of City Hall and enforces and interprets the City Bylaws. The Bylaw Services Division’s goal is to service the community by responding proactively to the bylaw enforcement needs of our citizens.
Bylaws such as, noise control, property maintenance, zoning for commercial vehicles, and parking are, in most cases, enforced on a complaint basis with the goal of bylaw compliance.
Animal Control
As of June 28, 2008, the BC SPCA no longer enforces the City’s Animal Control Bylaw. Residents of
Traffic/Parking Violations
Payments for parking violation tickets may be made in person at City Hall, by mail or by telephone (see contact information below). Acceptable forms of payment include cash, cheque, debit card, MasterCard, and Visa.
To dispute a municipal ticket (MTI), you must complete and submit a dispute form no later than 14 days after service of the ticket.The dispute form is available at the Bylaw Services office or by clicking here. Once the form is completed and submitted to the Bylaw Services Office, the Manager of Bylaw and Licensing Services will review the request and advise of the decision within 7 days.
