Master Transportation Plan

Master Transportation Plan logoIn 2011, the City began an update of its Master Transportation Plan (MTP), a long-term multi-modal transportation strategy guiding the development of the City’s roadway network, transit services, pedestrian systems and bicycle facilities.

The current MTP was adopted in 2000. Since then, the City has undergone significant growth and development and has been successful in developing a more efficient and sustainable transportation system, with improvements including:
MTP Update Process  
Public consultation will take place from fall 2011 to spring 2012. The new MTP will be ready to present to Council for  adoption in late spring 2012.
The MTP update will examine stakeholders’ key transportation issues and concerns, define goals and objectives for the City’s transportation system, identify and evaluate major transportation improvements and recommend a preferred transportation plan and implementation strategy.
