Friday, August 21, 2009 has been
rescheduled to August 28, 2009
Robert Hope Park (beside Mary Hill Elementary School)

Movie showing:   KUNG FU PANDA & Sneak Peek of New Children's Film

Due to rain, tonight's Cinema Under the Stars (Kung Fu Panda) has been rescheduled to Friday, August 28. Stay tuned for more updates on Family Fun in the Park and other events planned for August 2

Coming soon to a park near you! Towering 26ft tall, this enormous silver screen is traveling around the city throughout the summer months. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and round up some friends or bring the whole family out to Cinema Under the Stars.

There will be a special sneak-peek screening of ThE MeSsY LiE as part of Port Coquitlam`s Family Fun in the Park day. The film is to be shown as a trailer to Kung Fu Panda during Cinema Under the Stars, the movie portion of the day.

ThE MeSsY LiE is a charming new film about a little girl who lies about a classroom food fight. Kids and parents will enjoy it. Shot largely in a Coquitlam French Immersion classroom, the film is a light-hearted lesson about how lies can snowball. In one scene, even the school principal gets spaghetti splattered on his tie! The film is based on a true-lie told by the daughter of film director Nancy Lilley.

This wonderful theatre was purchased for the Parks & Recreation Department of the City of Port Coquitlam through the generous donation of the Port Coquitlam Spirit of BC Committee.
