May Day Parade

May Day Parade

Everyone Loves a Parade!
Saturday, May 8, 2010 - 11:00am

This is the second largest parade in the lower mainland. It will be lead by the Vancouver Police motor cycle drill team and be followed by over 90 entries. It all begins at 11:00 am in downtown Port Coquitlam. Come out and see the May Day royal party and community floats, marching bands, motorcycles, antique vehicles, the Shriner’s are with us again this year, the RCMP “Special Olympics” group, the Army, Navy & Air Cadet Groups and much, much more. Many of the community’s non- profit organizations will be there as well. The Terry Fox Foundation, the soccer clubs, the Girl Guides and the Boy Scouts. Come out and cheer for these future leaders. It’s the start to an exciting day’s events.

Parade Route
Beginning at Shaughnessy and Welcher Avenue, the parade will come northbound on Shaughnessy Street, turn eastbound on Elgin Avenue, turn southbound on Maryhill Road, eastbound on Hawthorne Avenue and finish up on Tyner Street.
