Adoptable petsEach year, dozens of stray dogs, cats and even birds are picked up from local streets and provided safe shelter. Licensed dogs are usually reunited with their owners the same day.

Countryside Kennels, the City's poundkeeper, is also an adoption agency for homeless dogs, cats and other pets. All pets placed for adoption are healthy, vaccinated, have an identifying tattoo or microchip, and are spayed or neutered.

These services are funded by the revenue from dog licences, which are required for all dogs in Port Coquitlam over six months old.
