Fire Sprinkler Permit
A Sprinkler Permit is required for the installation of fire sprinklers in a new building and alterations to existing sprinkler systems.
Based on the Building and Plumbing Bylaw, most new buildings in the City must have fire sprinklers and some existing buildings must have fire sprinklers installed.
Get Started: Pre-application
A Sprinkler Permit is required for projects involving underground piping or a fire line.
Contractors must hold a valid City of Port Coquitlam business licence and must provide their Sprinkler Installer trade qualification and driver’s licence for identification purposes (if not already on file).
If a Building Permit is required for your project, if must be issued before your Fire Sprinkler Permit will be approved (you may apply for the two permits concurrently).
Other permits that may relate to your building include:
- Plumbing Permit
