2013-2017 Financial Plan
The City updates its five-year financial plan each year to ensure the City’s finances are managed responsibly and reflect the priorities identified by the community.
The financial plan, which includes the current year’s budget and taxes, sets out the planned services and initiatives for the next five years, and how the City will pay for them.
A variety of improvements and service level changes were proposed for 2013 in order to both balance the budget and meet community needs. The primary public consultation period took place from February 4 to 15, but feedback was accepted throughout the plan development and bylaw adoption process. City Council adopted an amended Financial Plan Bylaw on May 14, 2013.
