Sun Valley Park Upgrades
Upgrades at the Sun Valley Park spray park in 2017 will bring new amenities, improve safety and reduce environmental impacts.
Construction Update: The wet weather and the high water table at the beginning of the spring delayed the construction of the Spray Park. The City is now anticipating that the spray park will be opened by the August long weekend.
View the drawings and renderings of the upgrades, which will include:
- increasing the play area size by 30 per cent,
- adding new play features,
- adding seating and benches around the spray park, and
- introducing a re-circulatory system to treat and re-use the water.
Sun Valley Park is 27 years old and located at 3700 Hamilton Street, off Lincoln Avenue in northeast Port Coquitlam. It also includes a wading pool, grassy areas and a new playground.
The upgrades will cost approximately $300,000 and are being jointly funded by the City and the Canada 150 Infrastructure Grant Program.
