Board of Variance

The Board of Variance is an appeal body consisting of five appointed members who hear and then decide upon variances to the Zoning Bylaw of the City of Port Coquitlam.

Metro Vancouver Board Of Directors

The board consists of 40 Directors representing 21 Municipalities, one Electoral Area, one treaty First Nation, and one Municipality that is a member of the GVRD for the parks function. These directors are members of a municipal or First Nation council who have been appointed to the Board by their respective councils.

City Appointed Representative:

Port Coquitlam Mayor Greg Moore is currently serving as the Chair of the Metro Vancouver Board of Directors.

Fraser Valley Regional Library Board

Funding for the Fraser Valley Regional Library comes from taxes raised in the communities it serves and a Government of BC operating grant. A Board of Management representing the 15 member municipalities and regional districts govern the library system.

City Appointed Representative:

Councillor L. Dupont is currently serving as the City’s representative.

ARTS CONNECT

ArtsConnect Tri-Cities Arts Council, known as ArtsConnect, is a non-profit society formed in 1969. We are mandated to promote arts and cultural awareness and development in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra (which make up School District 43).

City Representative:

Councillor Laura Dupont is currently the City’s representative for ArtsConnect.

FRASER HEALTH MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ADVISORY COUNCIL

The Fraser Health Municipal Government Advisory Council is comprised of Mayors and/or their delegates from the 20 municipalities from Burnaby to Hope representing the over 1.5 million people living in our region. It is the only regional gathering of Mayors in BC in which there is an opportunity to exchange information with, and discuss issues of mutual interest with, a health authority.

City Representative:

Councillor Glenn Pollock is currently the City’s representative for the Fraser Health Municipal Government Advisory Council.

SCHOOL DISTRICT #43 MUNICIPAL LIAISON COMMITTEE

The overall objective of the Committee is to deal with issues that are common to both the City and the School Board. The Committee will provide a forum whereby issues and projects can be jointly addressed prior to taking them to respective Committees, City Council or School Board.

City Representative:

Councillor Mike Forrest is currently the City’s representative for the School District #43 Liaison Committee.
