Douglas HORNE

Conservative Party of Canada

Before entering politics, Douglas worked in corporate finance and later co-founded and became Managing Director and CEO of Maple Leaf Studios Ltd., a leading international design and production studio. He was first elected as an MLA in 2009 and was re-elected for the riding of Coquitlam-Burke Mountain in 2013. He previously served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier, on the Provincial Treasury Board, on the Legislative Review Committee, and on Standing Committees for Finance and Government Services, Public Accounts and Children and Youth. In June 2013, he was appointed as Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. Doug has lived in Coquitlam with his wife and two children since 1996.


Liberal Party of Canada

Ron has a Bachelor of Science from University of Alberta, and an honours diploma in Computer Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. Ron has been active in politics for many years, including running a political blog, volunteering on campaigns, as well as running as a Liberal candidate in the 2008 federal election and for Port Coquitlam City Council in 2011. Passionate about promoting and protecting human rights and culture, Ron has been an active member in the local chapter of Amnesty International and serves as Director and Vice President of the Evergreen Cultural Centre Society. As a computer systems analyst, Ron provides Document Management systems consulting and development services to major firms.



Green Party of Canada

Brad Nickason is a small business owner, artist and graphic designer who has been involved in public arts and education projects BC for the last ten years. He has been active in his community by volunteering with the Cultural Advisory Committee, founding The Peace Art Collective, and writing and illustrating children’s books on safety, social issues, and the inner workings of community institutions. He has also created educational pamphlets on the importance of conservation of sensitive freshwater ecosystems. Brad strongly believes in government support for a strong, healthy, and sustainable political and natural environment. Brad has lived and worked in Port Coquitlam for the last twenty-six years with his wife and three daughters.



New Democratic Party of Canada

Sara Norman has a BA from UBC, a diploma in broadcast journalism from BCIT, and is pursuing a Masters in Journalism at UBC. As a reporter on federal issues, she is well-known for asking hard questions about jobs, poverty, housing, immigration, fisheries and oceans and other issues. In 2014, she earned a Ron Laidlaw Award from the Association of Electronic Journalists for her story on child poverty. Sara is now ready to direct her skills into politics, focusing on: better health care, stronger pensions, affordable childcare; investing in public transit and reduce air pollution; and creating good, middle-class jobs through hiring incentives for small businesses. Sara has lived in Coquitlam most of her life.



Kevin Lim, Co-Host Peak Morning Show on 102.7 The Peak

Born and bred in Port Coquitlam, Kevin Lim is currently one half of the award-winning “Mornings with Kevin and Sonia” on 102.7 The PEAK. Kevin has been twice honoured by the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters – being named “Broadcast Performer of Tomorrow” in 2009 and as “Broadcast Performers of the Year” in 2014. Kevin is also an award-winning voice-over talent, live event emcee, and active community volunteer, having worked with numerous charities such as The Children’s Wish Foundation, Run for the Cure, the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation and SHARE. Kevin is honoured to be hosting the All Candidates Debate in his hometown.
