Strata/ Co-op Preparedness Initiative
Our local and national news agencies are reporting an increased frequency in various types of disasters (Eg. fires & floods). People residing in Strata/Co-op buildings may have different needs and challenges from individuals living in a single family dwelling during an emergency.
Responsible strata leadership and risk management should include helping owners address potential threats to their property and how to prepare a personal emergency plan. Emergency planning is the best defense to mitigate property and personal losses during a disaster.
It is our recommendation that your strata form a team that will plan how to handle any disaster and maintain the plan to protect the people in the complex. We want to help.
How can the City of Port Coquitlam Emergency Program help your Strata?
Port Coquitlam has a strong contingency of coordinated and highly trained volunteers willing to come to your site and assist you in creating a planning team and provide initial training at no cost.
