Greener City

Greener City is a Port Coquitlam initiative that is engaging the community in meeting Port Coquitlam’s environmental commitments. Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who have joined us for recent work parties to plant trees and remove invasive plants in the community.
Celebrate Earth Day
Join us for a litter clean-up at Lions Park, along the PoCo Trail and the river!
Date: Apr. 22, 2023
Time: 10am-2pm
Location: Lions Park
Bring the family and pitch-in to help keep Port Coquitlam clean and green. Participants should come prepared with appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing. The City will provide clear garbage bags and gloves to participants. Staff will be on hand throughout the event to assist and guide participants. An information tent with an educational display will also be set up in the park to provide information on invasive species.
The City will be helping homeowners to plant more trees in Port Coquitlam by offering 100 grand fir trees for residents to plant on their residential property. To receive a grand fir tree, residents must participate in the litter clean up event on Apr. 22. The grand fir trees are approximately 3ft tall and when mature can reach up to 80 metres tall.
