Fire and Life Safety Inspections
Fire Safety Management has many important phases, one of which is Fire Inspections. Inspections are among the most important non-emergency activities that the Port Coquitlam Fire & Emergency Services performs.
During an inspection, the Fire Inspector evaluates a building or structure and determines what safety measures are necessary to meet a reasonable level of life safety. A Fire Safety Inspection program is vital to our community. We ask you to assist our department in achieving the highest level of fire and life safety in our business community.
Port Coquitlam Fire & Emergency Services is committed to running an efficient and effective program for improving the fire safety environment.
The Department’s fire safety inspectors identify unsafe conditions or deficiencies in buildings and structures related to current bylaws, codes and standards. Typical unsafe conditions include but are not limited to, obstructed exits, inoperative fire alarms and sprinkler systems, and improper storage.
An inspection should inspire property owners, managers and employees to take action to reduce fire hazards. The Fire Department also educates owners and building occupants about the importance of fire safety.
