Green Shirt Day Free Skate

April 7 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm PDT

April 7 is Green Shirt Day. It was created to honour, remember and recognize all the victims and families of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash and to continue Logan Boulet’s legacy by inspiring Canadians to register as organ donors and talk to their families about their decision.

On April 7, 2018 Logan Boulet, a defenseman with the Humboldt Broncos, succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash. His parents were aware he had registered to be a donor and honoured his decision to donate his organs. This selfless gift saved 6 lives. As news spread of the organ donation by this young hockey player, it is estimated that almost 150,000 people registered to become organ donors. This came to be known as the “Logan Boulet Effect”.

Show your support by attending a FREE public skate at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre on Apr. 7 from 12-1pm.  Mayor Brad West will be there to proclaim April 7 Green Shirt Day in the City of Port Coquitlam. There will be a Donor Registration event as well as prizes and Green Shirt Day t-shirts for sale. Have fun and make a difference while doing it.
