East of Fremont and Cedar Drive Route Study
On July 27, 2015 Council moved to accept Smart Growth Committee’s recommendation that a fourth alignment for this portion be selected, i.e. a route that would follow Devon Road within the existing road right-of-way and terminate at the City’s boundary (Lincoln Avenue). Devon Road Portion Background
Three alignment options were evaluated by City staff for the north portion of the East of Fremont Route Study between Prairie Avenue and Lincoln Avenue along Devon Road.
On March 23, 2015 Council directed City staff to undertake an evaluation of possible alignments no closer than 150 metres from the back of St. Thomas Street properties within the city boundaries of Port Coquitlam.
The city collected the following information to help evaluate the alignment options:
- Agricultural and residential uses
- Property acquisition requirements
- Length of watercourses affected
- Building setbacks from road
- Input from residents
- Input from the City of Coquitlam and Agricultural Land Commission
On June 16, 2015 City staff held a residents meeting to gain a better understanding of the alignment option impacts on properties along Devon Road.
