The City of Port Coquitlam’s Summer in the City – Festival of Arts, Culture and Entertainment begins July 6 with free, accessible and family-friendly events.

This two month arts festival is a great way to discover new performers from Metro Vancouver and enjoy quality entertainment in the heart of Port Coquitlam.

Events include the Farmers Market, Village Vibe, Music in the Square, and Cinema Under the Stars. Watch sizzling stage performances and popular films, buy farm fresh food and say hello to your local neighbours. There’s something for everyone to enjoy during July and August.

PORT COQUITLAM FARMERS MARKET
The Port Coquitlam Farmers Market is back for its tenth season, running every Thursday 3-7 p.m. at Leigh Square. With over fifty vendors, the Market brings locally grown vegetables and fruit, home-made baking and artisan-made goods. Enjoy weekly themes, events and performances for the whole family. VILLAGE VIBE PERFORMING ARTS SERIES
Village Vibe is presented in Leigh Square on the outdoor stage every Saturday afternoon 2-4 p.m. during the summer (July 7 to Aug. 25) and is free to attend. Village Vibe provides an opportunity for local emerging artists to gain experience in front of a live audience and celebrate their talents. All ages welcome – rain or shine.

MUSIC IN THE SQUARE
Enjoy the summer with free afternoon performances in Leigh Square every Sunday from 2-4 p.m. July 8 to Aug. 26. Music in the Square features professional musicians from across Metro Vancouver playing a variety of genres including jazz, pop, rock, blues, folk, world fusion, and contemporary.  All ages welcome – rain or shine.

CINEMA UNDER THE STARS
Start your weekend off with an unforgettable Friday night experience at Cinema Under the Stars! Leigh Square will showcase recent movies for free on an enormous 26 feet tall silver screen at Sun Valley and Gates parks. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, round up some friends or bring the whole family to our outdoor movie nights. Sponsored in part by G&F Financial Group.  AWESOME ART CAMPS FOR CHILDREN & TEENS
Leigh Square offers a unique selection of week-long art day camps for kids with a mix of art, play and experiences. Children explore their creative side while experimenting with various visual and performing arts. All camps include games, play, trips to the park and outdoors.
