The 12 days of Christmas holiday campaign is back for its third year in Port Coquitlam, encouraging residents to help brighten up their community and support local businesses and charities.

Last year, over 120 residents submitted night-time photos of their brightly-lit homes and showed their community spirit and support to Port Coquitlam businesses and charities. This year, the City, encourages more residents to join in and submit their photos from Dec. 1 to 12 and be entered to win a $100 gift card to a Port Coquitlam business. One winner will be randomly selected each day of the campaign.

The City is joining in on the fun as the downtown area including Shaughnessy Street, City Hall, Leigh Square, Donald Street pathway, and the northside commercial area at Prairie Avenue and Coast Meridian Road will all be lit up this weekend.

The 12 Days of Christmas contest is open to Port Coquitlam residents and limited to one entry per address over the 12 days. Photos may be uploaded to portcoquitlam.ca/brightenpoco, or shared on social media using the hashtag #WinterInPoCo and #WinterInTheCity and tagging the City (@CityofPoCo on Twitter or Instagram or @portcoquitlam on Facebook).

12 winners can choose a $50 gift card from any licensed business in Port Coquitlam and to match, the Port Coquitlam Downtown Business Improvement Association (BIA) will also giveaway 12 $50 gift cards from a local downtown business. Learn more about the BIA at downtownpocobia.com.

More Holiday Fun in Port Coquitlam

The 24^th annual Canadian Pacific Railway Holiday Train is rolling into Port Coquitlam on Sun. Dec. 18 (6:15 p.m. arrival, 6:30-6:45 p.m. show). The Port Coquitlam stop at Kingsway Avenue between Mary Hill Road and Wilson Avenue marks the end of the train’s cross-country journey with performances by MacKenzie Porter and Virginia to Vegas.
