Celebrate Earth Day With The City
The City of Port Coquitlam invites residents to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 22 with a litter clean-up at Lions Park, along the PoCo Trail and the river. The family-friendly drop-in event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine.
To celebrate Earth Day 2023, the City will be helping homeowners to plant more trees in Port Coquitlam by offering 100 grand fir trees for residents to plant on their residential property. To receive a grand fir tree, residents must participate in the litter clean up event on April 22 and registration is not required. The grand fir trees are approximately 3ft tall and when mature can reach up to 80 metres tall.
Bring the family and pitch-in to help keep Port Coquitlam clean and green. Participants should come prepared with appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing. The City will provide clear garbage bags and gloves to participants.
Staff will be on hand throughout the event to assist and guide participants. An information tent with an educational display will also be set up in the park to provide information on invasive species.
