City To Host World Cup Watch Parties At Recreation Facility
PORT COQUITLAM, BC – Nov. 21, 2022… The City will be hosting a series of free watch parties for families and sports fans to join in the excitement and enjoy food, drinks and draw prizes while watching the matches on big screen TVs.
Wear your red and cheer on the Canada Men’s National team in this year’s FIFA World Cup at the concession area at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC).
“I am excited to be bringing fans together to support and watch our Men’s National Team at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre. It’s all about bringing our community together and what better way to do it by cheering on Canada,” said Mayor Brad West. “It is an exciting time for soccer in this community and this country, get in the spirit and show your support.”
Canadian matches will be screened throughout the world cup, with the first watch party kicking off on Wed. Nov. Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. when Canada faces Belgium.
Schedule of Events
- Wed. Nov. 23 – 11:00 a.m.: Canada vs Belgium
- Sun. Nov. 27 – 8:00 a.m.: Canada vs Croatia
- Thurs. Dec. 1 – 7:00 a.m.: Canada vs Morocco
Port Coquitlam Euro-Rite FC Soccer and the City will hand out giveaways to the first 20 in attendance (value of up to $500 from Soccer Express). The PCCC concession will offer specials on Wednesday Nov. 23:
- Hot Dog, Chips & Beer $13.75 plus tax for 19+ only
- Hot Dog, Mini Popcorn & Pop $8.25 plus tax
