Tri-Cities voters can cast their ballots early in the upcoming municipal election at several advance polls.

Qualified voters can head to the polls before the October 20 general election day to cast their ballot for selecting a mayor, councillors and school trustees to serve their cities for a four-year term.

Port Coquitlam

• Wednesday Oct. 10, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Outlet, 2248 Leigh Square (access from McAllister St. or Leigh Square)
• Wednesday, Oct. 17, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Outlet, 2248 Leigh Square Pl.

Coquitlam

• Wednesday, Oct. 10, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Poirier Community Centre, 630 Poirier St.
• Friday, Oct. 12, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Victoria Hall, 3435 Victoria Dr.
• Saturday, Oct. 13, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Dogwood Pavilion, 1655 Winslow Ave.
• Saturday, Oct 13, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Pinetree Community Centre, 1260 Pinetree Way

Who Can Vote?

• Anyone on the Provincial Voters List is already registered to vote in the municipal election.
• Residents can also register at the advance polls or on election day with two pieces of identification (one signed), providing they meet the following requirements:
• Age 18 or older on election day,
• A Canadian citizen,
• A resident of BC for at least six months before the day of registration,
• A resident of their respective City for at least 30 days before day of registration, and
• Not disqualified by law from voting.
• Non-resident property owners may also vote in municipal elections, but have different requirements than resident voters. Please check your city website.

Where is mail ballot voting available?

Mail ballot voting is available for qualified voters in Port Coquitlam and Port Moody who can’t get to the polls on election day or during the advance voting opportunities because they will be away from the community or are prevented by a physical disability, illness or injury.
