Mayor Announces Advisors for Citizen Roundtable
After a thorough review process, Port Coquitlam Mayor West named the 17 members selected for the new Mayor’s Citizen Advisory Roundtable on Tuesday.
“I want to thank everyone who applied as it shows there is a huge appetite by our citizens to be involved in our community,” said Mayor Brad West, who made the announcement at Tuesday’s Council meeting. “It was an extremely challenging process narrowing the list down, as we had many qualified applicants.”
A total of 142 residents and business owners applied to be part of the new Mayor’s Citizen Advisory Roundtable, which will provide Council with input on a variety of topics, from budgets to city projects and community development.
“I feel we found the right mix of people and the diversity I was looking to achieve,” West noted. “There are residents who have lived here for a year to over 40 years, from a university student to a retired teacher, a marketing manager to a stay-at-home parent, a red seal tradesman and electrician to a business owner.”
Replacing the citizen advisors on previous Council committees, the following group will meet three to four times per year:
Miko Anderson |
Tracy London |
Courtney Catterall |
Nicole Owen |
Yue-Ching Cheng |
Paige Petriw |
Janine Davies |
Andrew Richards |
James Filippelli |
Royce Shook |
Jeremy Freeman |
Sean Walker |
Joshua Gair |
Kate Woochuk |
Judy Kuse |
Brian Wormald |
Nick Young |
Advisors will sit for a one-year term with an option to continue.
“I look forward to our first meeting and having the roundtable’s input on important matters that Council will be considering throughout the year,” West said.
