Mayor’s Citizen Advisory Roundtable Begins Fourth Term

Eighteen people have been selected who will play a role in shaping the City’s future by bringing their experiences, ideas and perspectives for the community on the Mayor’s Citizen Advisory Roundtable’s (MCAR) fourth year.

The Mayor’s Citizen Advisory Roundtable (MCAR) was launched in 2019 by Mayor Brad West to provide Council with input on a variety of topics, from budgets to City projects, initiatives, and community development.

A total of 50 residents and business owners applied to be part of MCAR to share feedback and provide input to City staff and Council on programs and initiatives that enhance the quality of life in Port Coquitlam and help the City move towards its strategic vision.

The appointed members for the upcoming term are:

The new term will end December 2024 with meetings taking place every month on Monday evenings, with a break in July and August.

MCAR’s 2019-2022 year provided input and discussion with City consultants and Directors into City initiatives such as the Police Model review, Master Transportation plan, Climate Action plan, Downtown Projects, including the revitalization of the downtown – Veterans Park and Leigh Square, Housing and RCMP Strategic Plan and more.
