Pay Utility Bill by April 1 to Avoid Penalties

Port Coquitlam property owners are reminded that utility bills are due April 1 and can be paid online.

By now all properties should have received their 2019 bills, which include charges for water and sewer services. Residents who have not received their bills by mail, should immediately contact the Tax Office at 604-927-5425 or taxes@portcoquitlam.ca.

The city encourages taxpayers to save time and skip the line by taking advantage of online banking or other payment methods, such as paying at your bank or mailing in a cheque or money order. Penalties will be applied if your financial institution rejects payment, or if payment is received after the due date (5% penalty for payments made after April 1 and a further 5% applies after May 31).

Residents can also sign up for the City’s convenient prepayment plan to start saving for next year’s utility and property tax bills by making manageable monthly payments. There are no administrative charges. Visit www.portcoquitlam.ca/prepayment for more information.

Property owners can also go paperless and sign up for MyPortCoquitlam at portcoquitlam.ca/online to view and manage their city tax and utility bills online.
