Pay Utility Bills By March 31 To Avoid Penalties

Port Coquitlam property owners are reminded that utility bills are due March 31 and can be paid online or in person.

By now all properties should have received their 2023 bills, which include charges for water and sewer services. Property owners who have not received their bills by the last week of February, should contact the Tax Office at 604-927-5425 or email taxes@portcoquitlam.ca.

Due to the construction at Veterans Park, the front doors to City Hall and access to the dropbox have been closed off and moved to the back entrance. Access and parking are available on McAllister Avenue or Donald Street. The dropbox is located on the side of the water feature by the back doors of City Hall.

Avoid the Line, Pay Online

The City encourages taxpayers to save time by taking advantage of online banking or other payment methods, such as paying at your bank or paying by mail. Penalties will be applied if your financial institution rejects payment, or if payment is received after the due date (5% penalty for payments made after March 31 and a further 5% applies after May 31).

Utility Bill Discounts

Utility bill discounts are available for seniors and people with disabilities on a limited income who meet certain criteria. Applications must be submitted each year before the due date to avoid penalty. Visit portcoquitlam.ca/utilities for more information.

Residents are also encouraged to sign up for the City’s convenient prepayment plan to start saving for next year’s utility and property tax bills by making manageable monthly payments. There are no administrative charges. Visit portcoquitlam.ca/prepayment for more information.

Property owners can also go paperless and sign up for MyPortCoquitlam at my.portcoquitlam.ca to view and manage their City tax and utility bills online.
