PSA: Celebrate Canada’s Cultural Diversity Sept. 4 In Downtown Port Coquitlam
Mark your calendar for Saturday, Sept. 4 for Party in the Square – Celebrating Canada’s Diversity in downtown Port Coquitlam.
Drop by Leigh Square Sept. 4 from 2 to 6 p.m. for a celebration of Canada’s diverse cultures, featuring live performances, children’s activities, displays, food and beverages.
Plans include:
- Live cultural music and dance performances by Indigenous hoop dancer Alex Wells, Persian music and dance, AC/DC tribute band Bonnie Scott, pop/R&B duo KokoSoul, and Afro-Cuban dance grooves with the Fito Garcia Band
- Family arts activities in the sculpture yard led by J Peachy and Red Fox Healthy Living Society
- Site-wide beverage garden hosted by the Kinsmen Club
- Food court with on-site food trucks
- Displays including the City Info Tent
All activities will comply with current orders from the Provincial Health Officer. To protect public safety, the following COVID-19 protocols will be in place:
- Directional signage and physical distancing in lineups
- Masks are not required for outdoor events but will be recommended, with free masks available for public use
- Hand sanitizer will be available
Party in the Square – Celebrating Canada’s Diversity is funded in part by the Government of Canada through its Celebrate Canada program.
