Roadwork Starting On Coast Meridian Road March 6
Watermain and road rehabilitation work on Coast Meridian Road (between Prairie and Dorset Avenue) will start the week of March 6.
Most of the work, which includes asphalt paving and a watermain upgrade, will take place overnight on weekdays from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and optionally on Saturdays to minimize traffic impacts. Traffic will be limited to single lane in both directions through the construction zone and subject to periodic delays. Some daytime work will take place, including on March 6 when the northbound right lane will be closed for the contractor to locate the underground utilities.
The public is asked to follow posted traffic signs and use alternative routes when possible.
Parking restrictions will also be posted where and when necessary within the construction area. Vehicles that are parked within restricted areas which prevent the contractor from completing the work will be towed at the owner`s expense. The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of April, weather dependent.
The work is part of the City`s 2017-2018 capital program that includes spending $31.1 million on upgrading roads, pipes and sidewalks and improving the City`s infrastructure.
