Sign Up For Let’s Talk PoCo To Have Your Say – And Win!
Interested in providing meaningful input on key City of Port Coquitlam decisions?
Residents, businesses and other Port Coquitlam stakeholders who sign up by Jan. 31 for Let’s Talk PoCo – the City’s new interactive online public consultation platform – will be entered in a draw for a $50 gift card to a Port Coquitlam business of their choice and a basket of City swag.
Those who register for a free Let’s Talk PoCo account at www.portcoquitlam.ca/letstalk will receive alerts about City initiatives and decisions and be invited to have their say using a variety of online tools. The first opportunity for input is the 2021 budget survey that wraps up on Jan. 17.
Public comment will also be sought in 2021 on a climate change adaptation plan, updates to the Official Community Plan and Master Transportation Plan, and other matters of public interest.
The interactive tools available through Let’s Talk PoCo include surveys, short polls, forums, mapping of relevant places, guestbooks and more. Depending on the topic being discussed, one or more options may be used to engage the community and collect opinions.
A New Way to Engage with the City
Let’s Talk PoCo is the City’s latest tool for encouraging public participation and promoting a two-way dialogue with the community.
Information and feedback received through the platform will inform Council’s decisions on a wide variety of matters, including how taxpayer dollars are spent and how the community will grow and develop in the short-term and long-term.
Let’s Talk PoCo provides a range of options for feedback and discussion, encouraging residents to engage in their local government. In turn, this will give the City a deeper understanding of the community’s priorities.
Over the years, Port Coquitlam residents have shown an increasing appetite for online engagement that allows them to participate and provide feedback to the City in their own space and time.
With the current limits on in-person meetings brought by the pandemic, online engagement opportunities have become more important than ever.
