Sign Up for Port Coquitlam’s Climate Action Plan Interactive Virtual Event
The City is inviting all residents to register for the upcoming Climate Action Plan virtual event to join the project team for an interactive session on the draft Climate Action Plan on Tues. June 21 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Climate Action Plan lays out Port Coquitlam’s approach to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and managing the impacts of climate change on civic services and the community.
This online interactive event, hosted by City staff, will help residents understand what climate change means for Port Coquitlam, what actions they can take as an individual, and how the City plans to achieve their goals related to climate change adaptation and mitigation.

At this webinar participants will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about the City’s Climate Action Plan – the case for climate action, the process to date and draft targets, principles, focus areas and objectives.
- Ask questions and learn from the project team.
- Provide input on the climate impacts you have observed and Port Coquitlam’s principles and objectives for climate action.
- Share your thoughts and learn from others about opportunities and considerations for taking action.
The free virtual event will be presented via Zoom, a virtual meeting platform, and registration is required at portcoquitlam.ca/climate. You will receive an automatic confirmation email upon registration and a reminder one day before the event.

The input received will help the project team refine the City’s draft Climate Action Plan to meet Port Coquitlam’s unique needs, and help the project team understand opportunities and considerations for plan implementation.
Feedback to date for Port Coquitlam’s new Climate Action Plan has helped to set new GHG emissions reduction targets and outline the corporate and community actions required to achieve them, identify key partnerships, consider natural assets in mitigating climate impacts, and develop strategies for evaluating, reporting and communicating results as the actions are implemented over the next few years.
