Submit Your Iconic May Days Photos to Port Coquitlam By Oct. 21
Port Coquitlam wants your best May Days photos to help promote and celebrate the event’s 100th anniversary in 2023.
Submit your high-resolution images of the City’s annual spring festival to portcoquitlam.ca/photos by Oct. 21 for a chance to be featured in the City’s printed calendar in 2023 as well as posters, online graphics and other promotions for the May Days centennial.
One of the City’s signature events, May Days began in 1923 and attracts thousands of people from throughout the region with several days of events, including maypole dancing, a parade, outdoor festival, cultural activities and more.
For the best possibility of having your photo selected, submit images that show the photo was taken at May Days rather than close-ups with no context.
All submitted photos will be placed in the online gallery at portcoquitlam.ca/photos.
The City also accepts submissions throughout the year of high-quality photos of Port Coquitlam landscapes, flowers and wildlife through the webpage, to be considered for a wide variety of uses including the community calendar, utility box wraps, social media and City publications.
Photo credits are applied to all submitted photos used in the calendar, and whenever possible in other City publications.
Submitted photos must meet the following criteria:
- Format: jpeg or tiff
- Orientation: horizontal
- Size: at least 300 dpi at a size of 13” wide by 10” deep OR a file size of at least 2 MB.
- File label: include photo name, location, year taken and photographer’s name (e.g. Parade Spectators-May Days 2022-Jen Smith.jpg)
