Voting for the People’s Choice winner in the PoCo Best Biz Awards is now open until Nov. 13

Anyone can vote for their favourite nominated business, and those who live, work or do business in Port Coquitlam will be entered in a draw for a $100 gift card.

87 local businesses have been nominated in the five categories (Small Business, Mid-Size Business, Big Business, Entrepreneur of the Year and Home-based). 160 nominations were received for the 2019 Best Biz Awards, the City’s seventh annual business recognition program. All nominees have been entered for the People’s Choice award, which is selected by the public.

Information about the nominees and an online voting form are posted at www.portcoquitlam.ca/bizawards.

The awards will be handed out at the PoCo Best Biz Awards Celebration on Thursday, Nov. 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Riverside Community Church. The evening will also include networking, refreshments and entertainment.

Local businesses may reserve up to two free seats at the celebration at www.portcoquitlam.ca/bizawards until Nov.15. Space is limited so early registration is recommended.

The City of Port Coquitlam launched the awards program in 2013 to raise the profile of Port Coquitlam businesses, recognize their achievements and acknowledge the important role they play in the community.

The People’s Choice voting helps shine the spotlight on the contributions local businesses make to Port Coquitlam.

The awards are sponsored by the Downtown Port Coquitlam Business Improvement Association, Tri-City News, Galactic Entertainment and Riverside Community Church.
