Voting for the People’s Choice winner in the PoCo Best Biz Awards is now open until Nov. 8.

Anyone can vote for their favourite nominated business, and those who live, work or do business in Port Coquitlam will be entered in a draw for a $100 gift card.

61 local businesses have been nominated in the four categories (Small Business, Big Business, Entrepreneur of the Year and Home-based). 94 nominations were received for the 2018 Best Biz Awards, the City’s sixth annual business recognition program. All nominees have been entered for the People’s Choice award, which is selected by the public.

Information about the nominees and an online voting form are posted at portcoquitlam.ca/bizawards.

The awards will be handed out at the PoCo Best Biz Awards Celebration on Thursday, Nov. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the PoCo Inn and Suites. The evening will also include networking, refreshments and entertainment.

Local businesses may reserve up to two free seats at the celebration at portcoquitlam.ca/bizawards until Nov.15. Space is limited so early registration is recommended.

The City of Port Coquitlam launched the awards program in 2013 to raise the profile of Port Coquitlam businesses, recognize their achievements and acknowledge the important role they play in the community.

The People’s Choice voting helps shine the spotlight on the contributions local businesses make to Port Coquitlam.

The awards are sponsored by the Tri-City News, TELUS, Port Coquitlam Business Improvement Association, the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, Small Business BC, Galactic Entertainment and Vancity Credit Union.
