WHL Pre-Season Tickets To Go On Sale August 12
The City of Port Coquitlam is excited to host two Western Hockey League (WHL) pre-season games – Vancouver Giants vs. Prince George Cougars on Fri. Sept. 9 at 7 p.m and Victoria Royals vs. Cougars on Sat. Sept. 10 at 7 p.m at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) – Jon Baillie Arena.
Tickets will be available to purchase for $11(includes tax) online or by phone beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12 for Port Coquitlam residents, and 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 15 for the general public. For those purchasing tickets for the Vancouver Giants vs. Prince George Cougars game, visit portcoquitlam.ca/vangiants and for the Prince George Cougars vs. Victoria Royals, visit portcoquitlam.ca/pgcougars. To purchase tickets by phone contact Recreation at 604.927.PLAY (7529). Tickets will be issued on the day of the game at the will-call station, located by the concession on the second floor (southeast of the building) by the entrance to the Jon Baillie Arena.
A total of 750 tickets will be available for each game and all seating will be general admission (first come, first serve). Any remaining tickets will also be available for sale at the door for each game.
The Port Coquitlam Community Centre concession will be open before and during the game and will offer specials:
- Hot Dog, Chips & Beer $13.75 plus tax for adults
- Hot Dog, Chips, Pop, Sour Key $7.50 plus tax for kids
Prior to puck drop on Saturday Sept. 10 pregame celebrations include:
- Street party on McAllister Avenue in downtown Port Coquitlam with live entertainment, food, family activities and more from 1-6 p.m. Watch the City website and social media channels for updates.
- Port Coquitlam Firefighters will face off, in a charity hockey game vs. RCMP at 3 p.m. Don’t miss the BBQ after the game on the patio outside of the Jon Baillie Arena with donations going to the Port Coquitlam Professional Firefighters Charitable Society. Come out and cheer on your local first responders.
