UBC Faculty of Forestry will be installing insect trapping devices in a forested area of Gates Park. They will be installing funnel traps suspended in red alder stands to trap bark beetles, no harmful chemicals will be used in the traps and there are no public safety issues. The purpose is to study if there is a presence of the Red Alder Bark Beetle in the area. The traps will be installed the week of April 17 and left in place until mid-September
