Public Notice of Watermain Flushing

Mar. 9, 2023 — Our annual Unidirectional Flushing Program starts Monday, Mar. 13. This year, flushing will take place in Zone 2, shown in the map. It is expected to take 6-8 weeks. Flushing is done each year to minimize sediment deposits in the City’s water system that can deteriorate water quality.
Flushing may cause pressure fluctuations, some discolouration, and sediment in the water, but all of these conditions should be of short duration. If your water appears discoloured, please run your taps on cold for 20 minutes or until it runs clear.
