The amenities at Gates Park are almost too numerous to count. It’s multiple sports fields (including an artificial turf field) make it a mecca for local teams and regional tournaments. There are courts for tennis and other racquet sports, a playground, picnic tables, the Traboulay PoCo Trail, and more. Port Coquitlam recently dedicated a ball field in Gates Park as Bird Field, in honor of Donna and Walter Bird’s legacy to minor baseball in the city. Gates Park also features public washrooms, changerooms, meeting facilities, and a concession operated by Pajo’s. Gates Park was formerly known as Reeve Park.
