BC Family Day

On Monday, February 18, 2019, British Columbians will celebrate the annual BC Family Day. This mid-winter holiday offers families the chance to spend some extra time together.

We acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.

Leigh Square

Leigh Square – Monday, February 17, 2020, 9am–12pm

Family Day Creative Fun – Explore your creative side with hands on art activities for the entire family! This FREE event includes demonstrations of wood turning projects, such as spinning tops, bird houses, lidded boxes, bowls, honey dippers, and spurtles. Finish the day on a high note with an interactive rhythm making workshop with Daniel Duggan of Rhythm Resource.

Hyde Creek Recreation Centre

Family Day Swim – Open to the Public, 1 – 5pm, all ages swim.

Weight room, Squash and Racquetball courts  open  1-5 pm

All drop-in sport and Fitness classes cancelled.

Port Coquitlam Community Centre

Family Day Skates – Monday, February 17, 2020

FREE Skate – 1:30 – 3pm & 3:15 – 4:45pm, all ages. Limited supply of free skate and helmet rentals available.

Shinny Hockey – 11:45am – 1pm, all ages. Limited # of spaces, register early online #39816 – $5/person.

Register early and join us for fun, non-contact mini hockey games: Parents vs. Kids, Parents vs. Parents, and Kids
vs. Kids! Staff assign teams and supervise games. Max. 30 participants and two free goalie spots available on a first come, first serve basis. Goalies email fenglers@portcoquitlam. ca to reserve your spot (confirmation will be sent). Space permitting, drop-in options available the day of.

Mandatory equipment: CSA approved hockey helmet, hockey gloves and full face cage mandatory for anyone 18 years or younger, helmet and gloves 19+. Other equipment optional. Gloves and sticks supplied by participants, helmet and skate rentals included in program price. Skate Shop opens at 11:30am.

Drop In Ring/Stick/Puck – Mandatory equipment: CSA approved hockey helmet and hockey gloves mandatory. Children 18yrs and under require full face cage, helmet and gloves 19+. Gloves and sticks supplied by participants; helmet and skate rentals available.

Ring/Stick/Puck (4 – 12 yrs) – 1:15 – 2:45pm,  $4/person

Ring/Stick/Puck (all ages) – 3:00 – 4:30pm,  $4/person

Limited number of spaces in all skates.
