Christmas in Leigh Square

Thank you to everyone who joined us this year for the annual Christmas in Leigh Square event on Friday, November 26, and Saturday, November 27. We hope you enjoyed the many holiday festivities from the Winter Artisan Market, the lighting of Leigh Square, and the food trucks and entertainment. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

2021 Holiday Hours for City Facilities

City Hall, the City Hall Annex, and Leigh Square Arts & Culture buildings will be closed starting 2 pm December 24th and will reopen Tuesday, January 4th.

Extra Curbside Recycling Collection – December 27 & 28, 2021

The additional pickup will take place:

  • Dec. 27: Zones 3, 4, and part of Zone 5 (south of Langan Street)
  • Dec. 28: Zones 1, 2, and the rest of Zone 5 (Langan Street and streets to the north)

The holiday activities are not over yet! Winter in the City Continues throughout the rest of December with a variety of events:

Holiday Skating at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre

Holiday Skates at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) including Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve skates run from December 20 – January 2.

  • Pre-registered drop-in programs at ca/register
  • Registration opens 7 days in advance.
  • Skate and helmet rentals available with online registration.
  • 12 yrs+ proof of double vaccination required to participate and spectate.

Brighten Up Port Coquitlam

Residents submitted photos of their homes lit up and were entered to win a $50 gift card to a Port Coquitlam business of their choice and to match, the Port Coquitlam Downtown Business Improvement Association (BIA) will give away 12 $50 gift cards from a local downtown business.

One winner was selected a day from December 1 to 12 as part of a 12 Days of Christmas campaign.

Christmas Card Artwork

Port Coquitlam invited children and youth to help spread some cheer this holiday season by submitting holiday-themed artwork.

The artwork will be displayed on the cover of the annual Mayor and Council holiday cards sent to key stakeholders and community groups in December. The cards will also be sent to seniors in Port Coquitlam long-term care homes with a personalized message from Mayor and Council.
