City-Wide Garage Sale
The City has cancelled this city event for 2021 as part of its proactive measures to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The City of Port Coquitlam’s City-wide garage sale gives residents a chance to declutter, make some cash and find a new home for reusable items.
Held following Earth Week, the annual event is part of the City’s ongoing waste-reduction efforts. Participants dispose of their unwanted items in an earth-friendly way, while benefiting from the additional bargain hunters drawn out by the large number of garage sales.
Turn Trash into Cash
Hold a garage sale with homes across the City and help find a new home for your unwanted but useable items.
The City will be offering up space in the parking lot at Gates Park on Reeve Street between Atkins Avenue and Kelly Avenue. This will allow Port Coquitlam residents living in a multi-residential building that may not have the space or are not permitted to hold a garage sale to sell their items. Space is limited and residents are required to sign up in advance. Residents who sign up for this space are responsible for their own belongings, set up, take down and clean up.

How To Participate
To participate, Port Coquitlam residents simply plan a garage sale at their home from at least 9 am to 1 pm, and register online.
Participants who register by the deadline will get free advertising for their sale in the Tri-City News newspaper ad prior to the event, as well as on the garage sale webpage.
All participants will be responsible for packing up any unsold items, similar to any regular garage sale. The City will not be picking up unsold items, and instead is encouraging participants to donate leftover items to charity.
Donate Leftover Items
The City will not be picking up unsold items and encourages residents to donate left over items to charity to benefit those in need and reduce the amount of waste generated.
Several area charities accept donations of household items (please phone ahead regarding larger items).
