About the Street Banner Program
The City of Port Coquitlam Community Banner Program is a municipal beautification initiative which showcases Port Coquitlam’s community spirit and pride and the artistic talents of its residents.
In 2019, the City introduced a pilot project for the banner program titled Naturally Poco, featuring photographic images submitted by community members for the Port Coquitlam Community Calendar. Due to the success of this project, the City of Port Coquitlam is continuing this Naturally PoCo theme for the 2020 Community Banner Program.
As an addition to the 2020 Community Street Banner project, the city has unveiled four new heart-themed banner designs selected from the hundreds of drawings residents have submitted to the city over the past few months.
These banners are installed along the Coast Meridian Overpass.
Call for Photos of Nature: 2021 Community Street Banner Program
Would you like to see your photographs on Port Coquitlam’s street banners in 2021? Shutterbugs who have taken striking photos of Port Coquitlam’s natural beauty are invited to submit them for the city’s 2021 Community Banner program by October 5, 2020.
The City is looking for photos of scenes and landscapes from all four seasons that showcase natural beauty in our community (e.g. flowers, wildlife and landscapes). Images that show the photo was taken in Port Coquitlam are preferred to close-ups. The banners will be installed along various city streets in time for the May Days Festival for a one year period.
