Youth Swim Programs (age 10-16)
The City of Port Coquitlam features aquatic programs for youth ages ten to sixteen years. Whether you are a non-swimmer, have completed swimming lessons, or simply want to try something new-we have the program for you! The intent of these programs are to continue to develop swimming skills while focusing on learning new skills, building fitness, and having fun!
Junior Triathlon Club
Want to learn to swim, bike, and run like the pros? This is an ideal program for those wanting to participate in triathlons or cross-train for other sports. Participants will alternate weekly between an outdoor run or indoor spin session followed by an hour swim workout. No experience necessary. Participants should have a Swim Kids level 7 ability or greater.
Typical Time: Thursdays from 4 -5:45pm
Canadian Swim Patrol
A three-level program aimed at developing strokes and providing the foundations for the Bronze medal awards. Participants practice content appropriate to their ability and interest.
Typical Time: Monday/Wednesday from 6-7:30pm
For those wanting to start lifeguard training, but are not old enough to begin Bronze Medallion. Topics covered include personal safety, first-aid, and fitness.
Typical Time: Fridays from 7-9pm
