Curious about volunteering, but looking to learn more about what opportunities are available? Or ready to volunteer and just need to be shown the ropes? Check out our upcoming Volunteer Orientations.
Orientations are designed to introduce volunteers to new volunteer areas and roles. They are usually run by individual departments in order to make sure that the information provided is both accurate and specific to each function area. Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet their volunteer supervisor(s), along with other prospective volunteers, ask questions, tour the facilities they will be volunteering out of and learn more about the various opportunities available to them.
An orientation is required as part of the volunteer application process for all departments of Parks & Recreation and can be undertaken at any point during the registration process. Even if you have not yet begun the registration process, you are welcome to attend to learn more about what volunteering with Parks & Recreation looks like. This is also great opportunity to ask questions related to volunteering and the sign-up process.
Upcoming Volunteer Orientations:
If you plan to attend a Volunteer Orientation and have not already completed an intake interview, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange one prior to the Orientation.
Orientations are offered seasonally. If you have just missed an orientation date and would like to begin soon, or have special considerations related to your volunteering, individual orientations may be available upon request.
