Nathan Twa

From May 2020- March 2021 I coordinated a United Way Food Hub for Westcoast Family Centre in tri cities. We provided food hampers, prepared meals, ready to cook meals and backpack buddies to any tri city families facing food insecurity due to the pandemic.

We had an amazing team of volunteers, over 80 throughout the year.

One who I believe deserves special recognition is Nathan Twa. Nathan is an SFU student working towards his bachelor in criminology with a minor in economics.

When the pandemic hit and we put out a call for volunteers he was first in line to help. Over the course of the year, Nathan volunteered to do every type of job we had available. He would fit it in before work. He would fit it in after school. And he always brought positivity and energy with him. He really enjoyed volunteering and giving back to the community and is looking forward to future volunteer opportunities. Our community is better because of members like Nathan who go above and beyond to help when many others cannot.
